Why should your organization have a Mission, Vision, and Value Statement?


All organizations should place high priority in developing mission, vision, and values statements.  These statements provide the very basis for daily decisions and business interactions that will ultimately lead to long-term profitability, growth and an enhanced ability to serve your clients.


Some examples of Value statements?

  • Provide professional and technical excellence
  • Promote a cooperative team environment focusing on safety and quality
  • Always act with honesty and integrity
  • Treat your employees, clients, partners, vendors and subcontractors with respect.


Your mission statement should define your company ?

  • Who is your company?
  • What do you do? How are you different or unique?
  • What markets do you serve, and what benefits do you offer them?
  • Do you solve a problem for your customer?
  • What kind of internal work environment do you want for your employees? Is there room for growth, fair compensation, training, respect for diversity?



Your vision statements should define your core ideals that will give your organization its shape and direction. Some examples of a Vision statement are:

  • Plan to make a difference in the community by adding economic growth
  • To create products or services that will benefit the clientele and beyond
  • Make it a safe and joyous environment filled with growth opportunities for the employees

In addition to originating the statements, the group also designs the application and implementation of their guiding principles. Because this session varies significantly for different groups, pre-planning is important.
